Trial by Terror

In a heated exchange with the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday, Attorney General Eric Holder stood by his decision to jeopardize–not only New York City, but 200 years of American tradition—by launching the trial of the century against 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and five other terrorists in the Big Apple. Holder insists that New York is the best “venue to obtain justice,” but as Senators on both sides of the aisle argued, prosecuting terrorists minutes from the graveyard they dug for 3,000 innocent U.S. victims is “dangerous,” “misguided,” and “unnecessary.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was the most visibly upset. “We’re making history here, Mr. Attorney General…bad history.” Rather than leave the terrorists’ fate to a military tribunal, Holder is rolling the dice with a jury of civilians who–with a single “not guilty” verdict–could exonerate men who committed an act of war against our nation. Essentially, the decision boils down to a global PR stunt to showcase America’s fairness. It’s more than a little ironic, then, that both Holder and President Obama have already determined the outcome. “Failure is not an option,” Holder said. If that’s the case, why bother with a trial that endangers the city, shows disdain for our military, prolongs the process, and wastes millions of taxpayer dollars ($75 million a year for security alone)? This entire charade besmirches the memory of every 9-11 victim and family–and, more than that, it disrespects every soldier, living and dead, who put on a uniform to fight in the war these villains started.

It seems obvious that Obama, Rahm Emmanel, Eric Holder (etc.,etc.) operate with lock-step precision to an unidentified drummer (the Obama machine we presume??), possessing neither conservative or Christian patriotism nor conscience (I Tim 4:2). Healthcare “Reform” has now reached an alarmingly new height, and may soon be the Law of the Land should good men choose to do nothing, OR the generally invisible “machine” to the public, having no conscience, simply robotically puts it in place also. Not only will they gladly do this “for us,” but they will also send us the astronomical bill without interruption!!??
So the questions that arise are: Is what is happening to our country the result of many years of elected officials and citizens “going to sleep, while its enemies have developed, finely tuned and plotted its total plans with timely precision? Is God using all of this (we are told he allows things & uses the evil for good), to wake us up to the failure of our allegiances being placed in trusting government, instead of the Holy God of Israel?? Is God also bringing to our attention a sadness for those working against our nation, showing us that presently they are lost and facing God’s judgment for eternity?? Should the Lord allow the American people to face dark times as the result of this unparalleled administration, He can use crisis, hard times, etc. to refine us by fire (and get our attention!) But, do we really need to go there; don’t we get it NOW enough to take the courage of the Founding Fathers and execute the necessary action before it’s too late???! (Both prayer and action)
Where are the officials from the protective arms of our nation like the FBI/CIA??? Can not they along with concerned elected officials of the House and Senate, take action to call this Administration into account for acting outside of our nation’s Constitution?? It would seem usurping/ignoring our Constitution would be clear grounds for impeachment. What we have seen in the news since President Obama took office does not even slightly resemble the tried and true principles of our Founding Fathers or the U. S. Constitution.
Cannot groups like Family Reserach Council all come together with its similar-minded citizens to constitute a formiddable action group to present both a block and a voice to be heard?
These are my deeply troubled thoughts, friends, and I share them here with you.
What is REALLY the point of this trial being held in NYC? Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has already pled guilty, PROUDLY I might add, and has asked to be executed, only the interference of Obama and Holder are delaying, if not jeopardizing ridding ourselves of this terroriist. The only decision to be made should be whether to hang him, or put him in front of a firing squad. Exactly who in the world are Obama and Holder trying to impress, and for what reason?
It’s very frightening that Holder can overrule Congress and pull this insane stunt. I don’t understand it.
How terrible! What an affront to American traditions — imagine trying a criminal in a criminal court!! What every happened to lynchings in the middle of the night. Oh, yeah that idea of justice was replaced by rendition, torture and jail without trial.
Seriously, it is better to have an airing of the facts, a judgment and punishment rather that letting terrorists live untried (and thereby can be seen by their followers as a martyr).

And what of the poor members of the jury, who will be frightened and intimidated, maybe threatened, and may choose a not guilty verdict to protect themselves and their families from retaliation?
