Well written article! As a Graduate it has been awhile, but every family remembers that first day! <a href="http://www.toughestschoolsintheworld.com/" rel="nofollow"> is the latest information for anyone interested in the Application process. Keep all these Sailors and future Marines in your thoughts and prayers!

Mr. Morrison captures the emotion of the day perfectly! As a retired Navy captain, I was not prepared for the emotion of the day watching my youngest son walk confidently and proudly into Alumni Hall, don his first USNA uniform, swear an oath to our Constitution then say goodbye to his family on Stribling Walk ,then march confidently into Bancroft Hall with 1230 other young and impressive Americans and 18 young international students. GO NAVY!!

I loved your post! We were there yesterday....our eldest son, C.J. is now a Plebe, part of the Class of 2013...fulfilling a dream he had since he was in fourth grade and visited the Academy with his Scout troop (whose Den leader was a USNA graduate). We were fortunate that our entire immediate family was able to make the trip down from PA...parents, siblings and both sets of grandparents. We were overwhelmed with pride, joy, and amazement. Now our second son says he wants to "Go Navy" as well! Wow.
