Miss California Says “Yes” to Marriage

Last night at the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas, finalist and eventual first runner-up Carrie Prejean fielded a question on same-sex marriage from judge Perez Hilton, an openly homosexual celebrity blogger. Her response, the crowd’s reaction, and the judge’s expression, are worth hearing and seeing:

In a follow-up interview with Access Hollywood, Prejean said her answer “cost me my crown. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do.”

“It is a very touchy subject and he is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct,” she added. “But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.”

It is just amazing to see people stand up for what they know is right, especially in the “secular world”. She sacrificed something very important to her and paid the price…such a perfect great example of integrity. As a parent, I would be beaming with pride with an answer like like!
