Well, he may have paid his taxes, finally, and the interest.

But, he hasn’t the penalties that go with NOT paying taxes and interest.

Is it common for penalties owed to be forgiven?

C’mon folks what did you expect? It’s still Washington, and it’s still the government. Until they realize that the American people run this country, nothing will CHANGE! The middle class runs this country, and we are becoming extinct. We need a few conservative radicals to make things difficult for the Judical system. Now I’m not making a threat or a suggestion (remember the feds are watching every move you make on these blogs and what you do on your computer). Whom on a jury would put a family man behind bars, if he put a bullet between Bernie Madoff’s eyes, after ol’ Bernie stole a large sum of money from him? Not me! Who would put a man in jail after a so called doctor killed his unborn baby, because the girl or woman he got pregnant didn’t want it. Maybe he did want it! Not me! The first thing I will do if ever it comes into play, is ask someone that wants me to save their life is, I’ll ask them, “do you believe in God?” If they say, “no”
I WILL walk away.

Americans will prevail, our fore fathers wanted it this way. It may not be easy or ethical, but America will survive, it has too!

Why is he considered if there is even a doubt? The IRS doesn’t discriminate, does it? He would have been reminded until it was paid, arrangements for payment, does that play in to it? Is everyone that represents us a crook? Sounds like he not only “forgot” about his taxes, but he has forgotten about his position and US. I don’t want him representing me or my family or controlling our finances. Do the PEOPLE have anything to say of this?

If Mr. Geithner was considered talented and truthful and helpful enough to work on the bailout during the Bush administration, why is his appropriateness in question during the Obama administration? If, as he’s said, this was simply an error or oversight, why is that not an explanation? If a person is honestly in error or has an oversight or loses a form or whatever, what else is there to explain?

Since Tim Githner is a tax cheater himself, I would surely not consider him an approved applicant for the Treasury Department, including the IRS, which investigates tax fraud on individuals!
