This comment, saying that Steinberg's statement "is more frightening than I can imagine" is egregiously off the wall. Aside from the fact that the US has far and away the vast preponderance of military capability in the world, certainly including nuclear capability, and that, like it or not our reliance on nuclear exclusiveness is dangerous insanity going forward, the idea that "the terrorists" are about to nuke us is sheer hysterical paranoia. We had better, as James Steinberg suggests, get off our high horse and seek accommodation in the world, or we're doomed to more of the failure that the Bush2 policy of in-your-face unilateralism has brought us.

Mr. Steinberg's statement "we must take steps of our own: canceling new weapons programs - like the nuclear bunker buster, ratifying the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and mounting a massive global campaign to secure loose nukes and nuclear materials." is more frightening than I can imagine. I just want this man to take stand up and take responsibility after the US stops defending themselves, and the terrorists nuke us. Mr. Steinberg, your lack of reality scares me to death.
