Susan G. Komen Foundation has ties to country’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood

Please click below to see the facts on the Komen Foundation- Planned Parenthood ties including the fact that Susan G. Komen for the Cure awarded 72 grants to Planned Parenthood afflilates during the years 2000 through 2005. When stopping to speak with a Susan G. Komen for the Cure sidewalk volunteer over the past Mother’s Day weekend, I was greatly alarmed to hear that she was not aware of the Komen-Planned Parenthood connection. This older woman stated that she was pro-life and shocked to hear of any Komen Foundation involvement with Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

You can read more about the Komen – Planned Parenthood ties and learn of alternate organizations to donate to in the fight against breast cancer from our friends at the Biothethics Defense Fund:

“Pro-life citizens who are interested in fighting this deadly disease should be aware that one breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, has a policy of offering financial support to abortion providing facilities.”

Thank you for bringing this to the forefront! My wife did a little research on this connection between Komen and PP and wrote about it here:

This information is pretty old, as you know. (But it hit me kind of like the poor Jewish fellow that was recently walloped by a new convert to Christianity.) What new information do you have on the Komen/PP link?

Planned Parenthood does provide services *other* than abortion – in their urge to demonise, the FRC often forgets this. These other services do include breast exams. Perhaps you should look at exactly what these grants are for?

* Breast Cancer Awareness and Education
* Diagnostic Breast Cancer Screening for Indigent Women in Dallas County
* Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains Denver Breast Cancer Screening Program
* PPRM Denver Breast Cancer Screening Program
* Mammography and Awareness “Early Detection is the Best Protection”
* Mammograms for Uninsured Women
* Breast Health Awareness Project
* Denver Metro Area Breast Health Outreach Project (Education)
* Denver Metro Area Breast Health Outreach Project (Screening)
* Breast Cancer Outreach and Screening
* Mammography for the Underserved
* Planned Parenthood’s Breast Cancer Screening Program
* Breast Cancer Screening Project
* Abnormal Mammography Follow-Up Diagnostic Testing

That’s just a few of them – the full list is far too long to post here.

So, an anti-cancer group is providing grants for early-detection screening, espicially for low-income and uninsured women. This is hardly a sinister misuse of funds.

I also wonder how many lives have been saved by this screening. The pro-life label is once more inaccurate – there is concern only for life before birth.

With PP’s emphasis on terminating life and providing minimal information if at all, regarding adoptions and other crises pregnancy options, I have always felt that it was not within the Federal governments duties to subsidise it’s activities. PP is an old relic to White racial supremacists when these abortion centers were originally placed in our “colored” neighborhoods by it’s White Founder, to keep down our Black population.
