What a cheap shot to equate infanticide and forced sterlization with same-sex relations. Also, the religious right is always going on about how few gay and lesbian people there are, so, by the r.r.'s own rhetoric, same-sex relations aren't going to be any kind of effective population control method.

I think global population projections are worthless beyond around twenty years. Too many unknowns. There is also the complication that not all countries are equal - the US and much of Europe have very low birth rates (And Russia is extremally low), but the middle east, Africa and South America are in a population boom. Will their boom be ended by increasing industrialisation and cultural change, as happened in the US and Europe? Completly unknown. If not, they are screwed, because they will just keep going up until there is starvation.

Regarding global warming, isn't it obvious? Six billion people will produce twice the emissions of three billion people living the same lifestyles. Twelve billion will produce twice as much as six. So the more people there are, the lower the safe per-person emission level is. This applies to all resource issues too. If everyone in the world were to be raised to a US-like lifestyle, for example, there simply would not be enough land to feed them or freshwater to drink. Fortunatly the market provides some protection - as food and water prices rise, people will switch to cheaper (lower resource usage) foods and start conserving water.

This is another sign why Time Warner, the city of Atlanta, and the Braves baseball team must do all they can to dissociate themselves from this anti-American, pro-communist, atheist who is hell bent on destroying this country. It is also another sign that Turner needs to get back on his medication, change his medication, or increase his dosage. It is also another sign of his loony influence toward Time Warner, for which he is the largest shareholder.

When the end is, it is in The Fathers control. But rememder the end will be as whom are His knows. I'm not saying to not enlong the worlds egistence by fight to preserve God's creation, but we all should do as God has given us to do.

I was so intrigued by the reference to the (New Jersey Nets) article mentioned in matt's post that I immediately followed the link to read it for myself. I was laughing out loud in disbelief that someone could be so moronic on any topic, but was relieved (and, strangely, a tad disappointed...it was a great story) to find that it was actually someone's attempt at satire. And it was a good attempt - it got my attention! Read the whole article, and see if you find yourself grinding your teeth in frustration at the ideas to which these mindless global-warming zombies subscribe heart and soul. Now if only they would commit half as much energy to a cause that really mattered... {sigh}

It is very sad that people like Ted Turner would even begin to think the way they do. His idea of population control simply plays into the ideology of eugenics which is nothing more than genocide/infanticide and a specific, blatant elimination of a designated racial ethnic group of people. In modern terms: legalized abortion. This same idea which was weaved in the hellish, demon-possessed mind of Adolph Hitler and perpetrated by an even more evil-minded Margaret Sanger against African Americans, is just the way Ted Turner and his global-warming-alarmist bunch sound like. I agree with first poster's comments, that if Mr. Turner would like to kick things off by extinguishing his own existence, then by all means do so. Nobody will object!

If we're that desperate for food, we can always barbecue up a spotted owl (cooked over a nice blazing tire fire, of course). >:D

I'm only joking... but not really. Why is it we spend billions to protect animals, and then turn around treat Human life -- our own species -- like its some kind of garbage?

God always has the first & last word on any issue, because is Lord of Creation & the Universe;
1. His first word was:
Genesis 1:28-"And God blessed them, & said
them-'Be fruitful& multiply & fill the
earth, & subdue it."
2. God's additional word:
Ps.127:3-"Children are a heritage from
the Lord; the fruit of the womb is His
reward."
Phil.4:19-"My God is able to supply
all your needs.
3. Last word:
Rev.22:"If any man takes away from these \ words, God shall take away his part from
the Tree of Life."

Have any of you guys hear what the New Jersey Nets are doing to in the fight against global warming? Not only are there games now carbon-neutral, but they traded Jason Kidd to the Dallas Maveriks for the a “better environment” also. Julianne Waldron explained to the media that Kidd was giving off to much Carbon dioxide. “Jason Kidd always hustles when he is on the basketball court, and we all admire that greatly. But all of that running up and down the court, pushing the team out on fastbreaks, expending extra energy just to make a few extra points and possibly win a game, caused all of the players to breathe a great deal more heavily and thereby expel extra amounts of carbon dioxide into the air, and we all know that is bad for the environment. We made the difficult decision to trade Kidd in order to save the planet.” Check out this article I found on it Environmental Activism is the Key to the Current Success of the New Jersey Nets
