Back in July, FRC's Washington Update took notice of an Aurora, Illinois Planned Parenthood Clinic which surreptitiously began construction disguised as the "Gemini Health Center," only to let community residents (and construction workers) know that it was really a new location of America's largest abortion provider.
CNS News is now reporting that the clinic's opening (for now, at least) has been blocked:
(CNSNews.com) - A federal judge has at least temporarily prevented the nation's biggest abortion provider from opening a new $7.5 million clinic in Aurora, Ill., while the city government investigates charges that Planned Parenthood used secrecy and fraud to obtain permission to build the 22,000-square-foot facility.
U.S. District Judge Charles Norgle, Sr., on Monday gave Aurora officials 24 hours to file a response to a request from Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area (PPCA) for an injunction that would have forced the city to allow the new building to open on Tuesday as planned.
A hearing is set for Thursday that awaits Planned Parenthood's response.

Why in the world does Planned Parenthood have to sneak around and do thing illegally? I have a pretty good idea. Why did Adam and Eve cover themselves? No one told them to be ashamed. Was it because they had a conscience that told them they disobeyed God. So has Planned Parenthood something to hide?

PP's official excuse for the sneakyness is that they were trying to avoid disruptive action by pro-life campaigners. Partially to avoid protests, partially because they were worried that the protestors would either intimidate the construction workers or block access to the site.

SO IT'S OK TO SNEAK AROUND TO AVOID CONTRUCTIVE OBJECTIONS TO THE PROJECT???

Questionable, but not quite illegal. There have been incidents before where construction of new clinics has proven impossible because of pro-life campaigns directed at the contruction contractors. No violent incidents of which I am aware, but a few threats of violence, and a lot of contacting the contractor's other clients and asking them to stop payment. Its very bad for business.
There is a difference between a protest that merely protests, and one that is intended to actively obstruct someone performing a legal action. The latter is taking the law into the hands of someone who shouldn't have it: It is not the place of protestors to decide what may or may not be built.

It's OK for gays and lesbians to jeer and make remarks to heterosexuals. It's OK for war protestors to destroy government property. I thought Planned Parenthood was bigger and bolder than to hide behind a scheme to cover up their building of such a huge center.
