The National Education Association (NEA) should come clean, be honest, and change their name. The National Indoctrination Association (NIA) would be more fitting. According to a report from the Baptist Press, the NIA has been up to their usual schoolyard bully routine, pushing their radical agenda onto America's children.
At their annual conclave held in Philadelphia early this month, the organization's executive committee -- without the approval of their members -- voted to aggressively advance elements of the homosexual agenda. The committee voted on and approved three proposals. First, the committee voted to put the weight of the so-called education association behind an effort to pass federal hate crimes legislation, a measure that would greatly expanded federal power and would ultimately lead to the silencing of moral opposition. The second resolution would boost the NEA's website to "include all resources" devoted to homosexual causes, and the third resolution called upon them to push to make sexual orientation training to be a requirement for earning teaching credentials.
And people wonder why parents want choice in education!

The NEA while seeking to boost pro gay
propaganda has declared war on all "ex gay"
information in the public school system.
They have delcared war on groups like the
PFOX - Parents and Friends of ExGays which
is a civil rights group seeking to present
the truth that homosexuality is not genetic
and therfore changeable. And that childen
shoul dnot be engaging in homosexual sex
at such a young age.
PFOX believes unlike the pro gay groups
that parents can love their children unconditionally without buying into the
"born gay argument".
In Maryland Teachers sent this group
harassing e-mails; school personnel
incited students to toss PFOX fliers
in trash.
The intimidation has becomeso bad that
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund
sent a letter clarifying the law last Monday
to school board officials in Montgomery County, Maryland because of there engaged viewpoint discrimination and censorship against Parents
and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX), with
whom they don’t agree.
School officials do not have the right
to engage in censorship of viewpoints
they don’t like,” said ADF Senior Legal
Counsel David Cortman.
The NEA is nothing but a puppet for
gay and feminist activist groups.
They truly think these kids are there
kids..as one teacher told PFOX "Leave
Our Children Alone"
Please support Parents and Friends
of Ex-Gays (PFOX)as they are being
attacked like never
before.

I think we should remember that parents do have a choice in private schools which may teach from a world view that is more inline with the parent's. Homosexuals do attend public schools and educators should be educated to be able to serve all types of students. Becasue there is a long history of violence against people who are or seem to be gay, as we did with the African American community, we need to address this problem. Hate Crimes need to be delt with differently than your run of the mil crime. I am not sure why there is such a passion against the homosexual community, I personally think we should be looking to save souls and love the out casts instead of fighting a group of people who have been around since recorded history. Can we re-focus?

I agree parents should have a choice for their children's education. Why should anyone's ideas be forced upon them? No one has ever proved that homosexual behavior is healthy. In fact, it is the number one reason why AIDS has spread. The lists go on and on.

The problem, Carrie, is that your side views PFOX as a legitimate group with reasoned information. Those of us who prefer to cull our data from actual research and date (read: the opposite of that which is employed by Paul Cameron/ NARTH/ etc.) recognize PFOX for what it is: a divisive organization that is truly hurtful to the well-being of students.
As Garret correctly states, parents DO have a choice. However, the true indoctrination being encouraged is from the anti-gay side, which is trying to have one-sided Biblical-based belief foisted into public school.
