However, if its from the Heritage Foundation, it will almost certinly be unreliable and very biased.

There is little controversial in this video. Strong, healthy families provide an environment which leads to healthy teenage sexual attitudes.

If I were to quibble, I would question only two points.

Abstinence pledges work? I think they do, but not for a significantly long period of time. But, even when they fail as they almost always do, the longer a teen stays abstinent, the better the odds are that when they do become sexual active, they are more mature in the relationship.

I also know from personal experience that good role models are essential, but my own experience is that gay and lesbian couples are every bit as capable of being excellent role models

Family is extremely important.

Listen to the words… the exact claim made was that abstinance-pledges ‘delay’ the start of sex. I know of a study – a respectable study, not one produced by a conservative campaign group – that does indeed conclude this. But the study also produced two other findings that the video ommitted. Firstly, that although those teens delayed sex, very few of them delayed it until marriage. Secondly, that those who took the pledge were less likely to use a condom when they did have sex.

Abstinence programs do work, they may not be as effective sometimes because they are not complete. For instance I can prove to any girl and have never failed to do so and have never failed to see it be proven so that a girl who gives into a guy who brings the sexual to her outside of marriage, is a guy who is a liar and cheater(and Im not talking about the promiscuous) if there is even a difference betwen a liar and a cheater, which in all honesty there isnt. Men who do not practice abstinencwill find a girl and call them their girlfriend and it even goes on for lobg periods of time, butthese kinds of guys are phony from the get. I can prove this to any woman and have never failed to do so. Most women eventualy find it out for them selves, but one of the terrible charcteristics of it is , is that sometimes they dont find it out for 5, 10, 15, 20 years later, what could have been shown them before they ever wasted their time. in other words if a guy brings the sexual to a girl outside of marriage it is the ultimate red flag for a woman to say BY BY! NEXT!
